Description: I started making pottery when I was in my teens and immediately fell in love with clay. So naturally, I was excited and surprised to learn I could actually go to college for it… who knew?? I received my BFA from RIT School for American Craftsmen in ceramics and sculpture back in the early 90s. I stayed in Rochester and also earned my Masters Degree in Art Education from RIT. After a brief detour to Baltimore, where I started working for the Archdioceses (as a k-12 art teacher), I eventually settled down in New York’s Hudson Valley region and began a career as an elementary art teacher. Two grown kids, another masters degree this time in school administration (which I tucked away in my back pocket) and a rewarding teaching career later, I’m back to making pots. Life is good.
